Taos Retreat

Located on the outskirts of the village of Taos, in the Rio Grande Valley of Northern New Mexico. The design considers the use of compressed earth blocks, responding to the long history of earthen materials of the region, the climate, and the land. Passive solar strategies and cross ventilation are incorporated to alleviate the energy use through the seasons, and provide a quality of indoor and outdoor lifestyle that engages the natural setting of the Taos valley.
